Infineon is an independent listed company of the former Siemens semiconductor group in Germany. Infineon is the fourth largest semiconductor company in the world (2004). In 1999, in order to facilitate the further development of its huge electronic parts group, Siemens separated two major parts of electronic parts: active components (semiconductors) and passive components (capacitors, magnetic cores, etc.) to form two public companies. The semiconductor group is "Infineon" and the passive components become "EPCOS". The original Siemens power electronic device manufacturing plant and quality have not changed, only the trademark has changed. The former Siemens electronic parts group will serve the world with a new attitude and move towards the future.
